Let's Encrypt rate-limit increase requested

We requested higher rate limits for bhdns.de and sbdns.de from Let's Encrypt on 11 October 2026, and the request has been confirmed. Why it matters: without that exemption only 50 new certificates may be issued per registered domain each week. Every subdomain here gets its own certificate, so with many users that ceiling can be reached within days — and a certificate that cannot be issued is a subdomain that cannot be reached over HTTPS. The exemption lifts the "Certificates per Registered Domain" limit for both of our domains. Let's Encrypt reviews such requests every week and ships the changes twice a month; we will be told by e-mail once it is active. Until then nothing changes for you: certificates are issued as usual. If the limit is reached before the exemption is active, the fallback is to wait for the weekly window. The long-term alternative documented by Let's Encrypt is an entry in the Public Suffix List, which gives a domain its own limit; that path is slower.
